The Vermont Rail System operates over 350 miles of track with its family of over 125 dedicated railroaders. The railroad hauls over 25,000 cars each year, with nearly 90% of traffic serving Vermont businesses.
Omya is a leading global producer of calcium carbonate and a worldwide distributor of specialty chemicals.
In Vermont, Omya quarries marble, which then is ground, milled, and purified to produce a finely ground calcium carbonate, shipped by railcar.

Green Mountain Railroad
The Green Mountain Railroad offers seasonal Dinner trains departing from Burlington, VT from May through September and Chester, VT in September and October. They also offer a number of special event train rides, scenic fall foliage excursions, cocktails on the rails and more throughout their passenger season.
